Heart of Iowa Mutual Insurance Association was formed on Jan 1st, 2019 as a decision to merge Patrons Mutual Insurance Association and Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Association of Guthrie County together.
Patrons Mutual was organized in 1875 and Farmers Mutual in 1882. Both companies had been providing local insurance protection to its members for over 144 years.
In 2017 both Board of Directors realized by expanding the writing area and spreading the insurable risk along with the combination of the resources of both companies would allow Heart of Iowa Mutual to serve our members for generations to come.
We look forward to continuing to offer the same great services that both companies offered their policyholders.

Heart of Iowa Mutual Insurance mutually insures the property of its members against loss or damage by fire, lighting and or other hazards. Heart of Iowa provides claim service for individuals that have policies with the Company, and provides underwriting services as well.
A Board of Directors directs the Company operations and they are elected by the policyholders.
